Location: Lydham Hall Historic House and Museum, 18 Lydham Avenue, Rockdale NSW 2216
Opening Hours: 10am – 4pm.

Our April Open Day is a celebration of chocolate.

We’ll serve a special chocolate-themed menu with delights including Cherry Ripe Cake, Chocolate Crackles, and various chocolate scone varieties.
Our traditional Devonshire Tea is always on the menu.

Special event: At 11am and 1pm, “The History of Chocolate In Australia” by Chef Adam Moore. Discover the intriguing evolution of chocolate and the inventive chocolatiers, delightful products, and unique Australian trends. Take a nostalgic look at the “Rocky Road” story, the history of Darrell Lea and its legacy in the St George Area.
Renowned as a distinguished figure in the culinary realm, Chef Adam Moore stands as a preeminent corporate chef, captivating public speaker, accomplished TV presenter, and a globally recognised award-winning innovator.

Places are limited for this presentation at 11am and repeated at 1pm. The presentation is included with entry, but please choose your preferred presentation time during checkout.

Raffle Prize: Freshly baked Simnel cake
A fruit cake topped with eleven marzipan balls to represent the eleven apostles of Christ, minus Judas. Simnel cakes have been eaten since medieval times as both a rich, sweet treat and a symbolic ritual.
We’ll draw the winner at 4pm at the end of our Open Day. You won’t need to be present for the draw, we’ll call you to arrange collection of your prize.
1 ticket is $5, but the best value option is 3 tickets for $10.
All proceeds help us protect Lydham Hall for generations to come.


On-street parking is available or a short bus trip from Rockdale Station takes you within a 5-minute walk of the museum.

The house and manicured gardens are regularly open to the public and for group tours and venue hire. The interior of Lydham Hall is presented in the style of a late Victorian residence, with a fine collection of antique furniture and over 1,500 objects of local and historical interest contained within the rooms and in the museum upstairs. The museum also has a library and archives which contain a broad range of books, photographs and documents on local places, people, events, and institutions.
