In conjunction with the Historic Houses Association of Australia Ltd, we’ve obtained exclusive permission for a guided tour of West Maling.
At 10.30am, Mark Sabolch will introduce the home and its Queen Anne style. The Pastor of the Revival Church will then conduct our house tour, followed by morning tea.
Places are limited for this rare opportunity to explore a unique heritage site in St George.

West Maling
The state heritage-listed “West Maling” is one of the first and the purest examples of Queen Anne architecture in Australia. The original interior and exterior features have been retained, including virtually all the original joinery, the driveways and part of the gardens. Its design was influenced by Richard Norman Shaw, considered one of the greatest of British architects.
The house was built in 1889 for Albert Bythesea Weigall, the long-serving headmaster of Sydney Grammar School. Under his 45-year tenure, it emerged as “one of the leading Australian secondary schools”.
“West Maling” has also been a monastery, and since the 1980s, it hosts Revival Life Centre, a Biblical, Pentecostal, generational community of believers in Christ Jesus.
