Nominations for Election of Committee Members – July 2025 Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting of the St George Historical Society Inc. (SGHS) will be held on Saturday, 19 July 2025 at 2pm at Level 3, Rockdale Library.

SGHS members can submit nominations for committee members via the form on this page.
Members may also nominate during the AGM.

The committee:

  • is to control and manage the affairs of the SGHS, and
  • may exercise all the functions that may be exercised by the SGHS, other than a function that is required to be exercised by the SGHS in general meeting, and
  • has power to do all things that are necessary or convenient to be done for the proper management of the affairs of the SGHS.

Position Descriptions

  • President is the administrative head of the SGHS and shall direct its affairs subject to the control of the committee. The president is a member ex-officio of all sub-committees. The president shall chair all meetings of the SGHS or if absent, the vice-president.
  • Vice President shall act as a consultant to the president and shall take the place of the president during the president’s absence.
  • Secretary is keeps minutes of the SGHS and Committee, conducts correspondence, and acts as liaison officer with officers of other associations.
  • Treasurer collects money owed to the SGHS, pays requests for authorised expenditure, and keeps reporting of the financial affairs of the SGHS.
  • General Committee members assist with the management of the SGHS.
